I’ve been reading through the book of Genesis learning everything I can about Noah—and oh my goodness, I admire that man. He was righteous, obedient, blameless and marked by favor in the eyes of God.

I can’t really imagine how he felt when God asked him to build a huge—actually gigantic, sea-worthy vessel to save his family from a flood that would be coming.

And yet, I can.

You see, God gave our family a seemingly crazy, huge and unrealistic assignment to move our family to Central America to fly something to help people know Jesus. There was no plane. Or helicopter. Or aviation program. But the Lord told us to come.

At times, we have felt like Noah.

You see, Noah had never seen rain, let alone flooding. But he promptly obeyed God and began to build the ark that would save his family. Then, there was the waiting and the working to prepare.  For probably 120 years, Noah worked on this ship through times of uncertainty when the situation wasn’t necessarily clear.  In the middle of tackling this huge project, he was faced with critics. People thought he was crazy, but his patience and persistence by faith was unshakable in an entirely faithless society.

But the rains did come, as God promised they would. And guess what?  Noah was prepared, and He and his family were saved with the provision that God had provided.

40 days and 40 nights of torrential, flooding rains.  After 150 days had passed, the rains finally stopped when our entire world was under water.  But. God. Remembered….

But God remembered Noah and his family and all the animals and God sent a wind to dry the earth and cause the waters to recede.

I am so thankful that God remembers.

He remembers every promise, every dream, every tear, every day that we’ve struggled to obey by faithful perseverance in the midst of hardship and uncertainty.  He remembers us because He is faithful.

We were given a God-sized dream; a God-sized calling that at times has been overwhelming because of our own inabilities. We have seen God take our willing hearts and what little we have to offer, to begin a work here in Guatemala that is the start of something beautiful.

Just as God promised to Noah, He has promised to us His covenant love and faithful provision.  The good work that the Lord started in each of us – He will carry it out to completion until the day of Jesus.  And that, my friends, is exciting.

This week, we have seen more glimpses of God’s provision and God remembering us and our dreams to see aviation support the work here at Hope of Life. We are thrilled to have a small part in reaching precious souls for Jesus here in Guatemala, and we are so humbled to see the Lord allowing us to use aviation to increase the impact that Hope of Life is making.

God will remember you, and He will be faithful to you as you obey whatever God-sized calling He has placed on your life.
