40 days….
We are approaching the half way mark in our forty day prayer journey. Every area in the ministry is focused on prayer and seeking God. Asking Him to open the floodgates of heaven to pour out on this ministry. I am a firm believer in the power of prayer. God hears and God answers, just not always on our time schedule. And not always in the way we ask or think. So, what is the purpose of this journey..these 40 days.. what makes them different?
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

We are God’s people and we are humbling ourselves before an almighty God asking Him to heal this land. We are asking Him to save precious lives. We are asking Him to supply our needs and we are doing that together. I had the honor to share a devotional in our students with disabilities classroom as part of our prayer journey. We read the complete story of Joseph together and talked about how God brought his life full circle. We talked about how even when it seems like our families don’t want us that God always takes care of us He loves us. We talked about how sometimes bad things happen that we don’t understand. We talked about our faithful God. I watched in humbled wonder as these kids got excited about the redemptive plan that God had for Joseph. I watched and listened to them tell the story in their own words. My eyes teared up when I saw they understood that God has a plan for each of them, a plan to prosper them. And we prayed together. We prayed for their families. We prayed for each other. We prayed because we know God hears.. and my heart was overwhelmed because I know that I was in the presence of future world changers.
