In the mornings, I teach the transition kindergarten class at the preschool in the Village of Transformation. This class is specifically for children who are older than preschool age, but still not quite ready to enter into grade school. I work with children with specific learning disabilities, have suffered from some sort of trauma, or simply have begun education later in their life. At the beginning of the year, I was praying for this class. We weren’t exactly sure who would be placed with me, and I felt eager to help any child that needed it. When the school year began, in January, I received five sweet students, each with a very different story. It did not take long for us to become a family. It’s only been a few months, and God is already growing these sweet hearts in love and knowledge.

About three weeks ago, I felt like God was telling me that something was going to change in my class. I didn’t know if that meant a child was going to leaving or coming or what. Life is always moving and changing! Soon after, three siblings were brought to Hope of Life, and I thought, ok God this must be it! Little did I know, God’s plan is always bigger. After about a week, I found out that one boy from that family was being added to my class, but so would two other brothers from another family! My little world of five smiling faces, was now eight spunky, energetic blessings.

Each day is a new challenge, and I am always on my feet with my class. I absolutely love it, and I love these children. My goal for them is for each of them to grow and learn and read and explore. But I want them to know that they are loved and that God never abandons them. Stay tuned to see what else God does with His precious children here, and please keep praying!

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”

Ephesians 3:20-21
