It feels as if Christmas was only a few weeks ago.  It is such a special time of the year, but for many in Guatemala it’s not a celebration—its’ just another day without hope.

Fortunately, through Christmas Hope Bag, you can share the joy of Christmas with a child who otherwise may not receive a single Christmas gift!

These bags are a simple, yet an impactful gift that creates an avenue for a relationship with a child and their families.

Whether you are currently sponsoring, are thinking about sponsoring, or enjoy traveling down to our campus every year, when you give a bag, it’s not just material but relational!

It is never too early to start thinking about Christmas Hope Bags and the impact they make in a child’s life!  Recently, some amazing partners of the ministry, Richard and Donna Boone, stopped by our US headquarters and dropped-off hundreds of bags filled with gifts for this years program.

Below is a testimony of how giving has impacted their lives:

“We had the opportunity to be there the very firs time they received gifts.  The children didn’t know what to expect and I’m sure that even the moms didn’t know what to expect either.  Being there and watching the children open the boxes and seeing them ooing-eye over them, and seeing the difference between children there and those here in the US, was tremendous.  The children there would open the box, sit-down and begin to share everything with their friends. The gifts were not exclusively theirs!  We continue to see that even as recent as last summer.  It is so neat to see them open the gifts and the next day play with their toys, wear the tees, play with the recorders and harmonicas.  Just to sit there and watch the giggles is tremendous and it brings such joy to our hearts.  Also, the patience from them because we have several hundred children standing in line waiting for a gift bag!

One of the most impactful experiences was last year.  We watched one little boy who was being sponsored by one the men in our group wait his turn in line.  When it was his turn, he ran up to his sponsor and gave him a huge hug.  It was almost as if he didn’t care about the gift and only wanted his sponsor. We realized that these bags are juts an avenue to build a relationship with these children.  It is just a blessing being part of this program and we look forward to going back every year and seeing them open a small gift and it mean the world to them!”
