In the midst of this Thanksgiving season, you are brought to the forefront of our mind. Your generosity has been a constant encouragement, and has changed thousands of lives in Guatemala this year. The challenges, needs, and constant work that is laid before us each day cannot happen apart from your gifts and generosity.

Generosity show to children like Saul- the hike into the mountains for Saul was described by some members of the rescue team as, “the most physically strenuous 30 minutes of my life.”.

When we talk of the remote homes, and the difficult terrain these families live in, it is not merely for dramatic effect- this is real life for them.

Saul, his mother and father, two brothers, a cousin, and his grandparents all lived in a home not much larger than your average American bedroom, with little more than ragged black plastic and long splintered sticks to stretch it between.

His situation was despairing from every side. A victim of extreme poverty, the malnutrition that typically accompanies, was ravaging his frail body.

This was his story before friends like you decided to intervene. A team of rescuers brought Sail and his family down from the mountains and witnessed the slow and steady change in his health.

However, they did not rest there- within less than 2 months they provided a new home for him and his family on the top of this mountain.

They found a way to not only give him hope for the future, but a place to begin that future.

Saul and his family’s lives are completely new, thanks to your generosity.
