Victor is a 10 year old spunky, sweet, smiling boy who lives at Kelly’s house. He perks up and practically jumps out of his wheelchair when you walk in the room. Even though Victor cannot speak, he is one of the smartest children and he has a great sense of humor.

Victor is one of the many children at Hope of Life’s special needs home, Kelly’s house, with Cerebral palsy. He came to Hope of Life a little over a year ago. When I began tutoring him in February, I had no idea how God would use Victor in my own life. Together, we work in class to communicate, joke, laugh, and read God’s word. At first glance, you may not see this sweet boy’s potential, but I remind him every chance I get that God has big plans for him.

About a month or two ago, a group of a few pastors came into my classroom when I was working with Victor. They began to ask me questions about him, and one of them was able to speak truth into him. One of the pastors had a family member with Cerebral palsy. They placed their hands on Victor and prayed over him–it was a very special day.

Sometimes we can be so busy or wrapped up in our own lives or plans, that we miss out on what God is trying to show us. I pray I never miss out on what God has for me, and that children like Victor are never disregarded or overlooked. I’m so thankful for the beautiful moments that we share!

“I will never forget your commandments, for by them you give me life.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:93‬ ‭
