Hope of Life International’s Liberty College, initially serving foster children, has grown into a hub of quality education in Guatemala. Now, Liberty College is expanding to address two pressing needs: healthcare and technology training.
The new Nursing and Technology School aims to equip Guatemalan youth with hands-on education in nursing and technology, addressing Guatemala’s severe healthcare workforce shortage and fostering digital skill development. With a new, two-story facility featuring advanced medical and tech classrooms, students will gain practical skills to support their communities and lead future change.
Nursing Program: Closing the Health Gap
Guatemala faces a critical shortage of nurses, with just one per 1,000 patients compared to 17 in the U.S. Our Nursing School will educate 50 students per cohort in a comprehensive, three-year program, blending theory and practical experience. Set in Zacapa, a region with high malnutrition rates, the facility offers students exposure to complex medical cases, addressing both national and local healthcare challenges.
Technology Program: Building Digital Futures
In partnership with INTECAP, our Technology Program will offer courses in computing, digital marketing, and IT support; empowering students with digital skills for Guatemala’s evolving job market. The three classrooms will prepare up to 30 students per session for new, technology-focused careers, strengthening economic opportunities across communities.
Educating in these industries not only ensures future job security but also meets the needs of the region as a whole. Through this new extension, Liberty College is set to transform the lives of students, families, and communities—one classroom at a time.
