A behind-the-scenes look at how we serve

.

At Hope of Life, we provide a wide range of projects; from water wells, to new homes, to Community Partnerships. But no matter the project, our method remains constant – sharing a Practical Gospel. This means we do not meet a spiritual need without first meeting physical needs.

We are committed to meeting both physical & spiritual needs by reaching out actively to people who might not even know someone cares for them. In a culture of extreme poverty, people do not ask for help because they think no help will come.

“For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in;
I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

      • Matthew 25:35

Through this service we display the Gospel and fulfill a call to serve, which spiritually fills us as believers.

Physical needs like building a HOUSE for Jovita, a 20 year old St. Luke’s resident whom after 6 years living in the hospital has been unable to visit her family due to her Cystic Fibrosis (below left). Thanks to our volunteer groups and partners, Jovita now has a home! She remains close to St. Luke’s so she can receive Life-Saving care, only now, her family can join her.

AND Spiritual Needs, like groups who have devoted themselves to investing in local Communities while simultaneously building up local Churches (below right). Whether it be sharing the word, pastoral development, or church planting – Guatemalan Pastors & people are empowered to find Hope in Christ!

It is YOUR commitment to Serve and Give that allow us to continue to operate in this way. Thank you for supporting us as we continue to support some of the most under-served areas of Guatemala.
