Last week, I got the chance to go to a preschool graduation in our church’s adopted village, Pueblo del Río. I had not been to the village in a few months, so I was excited to see how the families were doing. Our time there was short, but so sweet. Our church has been blessed to build many houses there, wells, and a church. As we were leaving, I started thinking about how blessed I am to know these people. We can be from different parts of the world, but any time we see each other it’s like seeing family. I pray for them every day. In any way we can, we help them when they have specific needs.

Guatemala is my home, and I’m not going anywhere. Relationships are being built, and I love that our stories are woven together, even if it’s not every day that we get to see each other. The children in Pueblo del Río hold a big place in my heart, and I know it’s a bond that only God can create. As the holidays are coming up, I am praying for these families, many by name, that they will be blessed and will know what it means that their Savior was born to save the world. I can’t wait to share the love and joy of Christmas with them!

Psalm 100

A psalm of thanksgiving.

Shout triumphantly to the Lord, all the earth.

Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before Him with joyful songs.

Acknowledge that Yahweh is God.
He made us, and we are His —
His people, the sheep of His pasture.

Enter His gates with thanksgiving
and His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him and praise His name.

For Yahweh is good, and His love is eternal;
His faithfulness endures through all generations.
