Our heart’s are always with our kids and our youth here in the Hope of Life Village. They are the future. We had the awesome privilege today to take them to their first youth conference. Twenty two future leaders learned the impact they can have through World Missions. As most of you know, soccer or “fútbol” is huge in most of the world and our kids here in Guatemala love fútbol! With the World Cup taking place, the youth learned about the different religions of each of the countries playing in the tournament. Many of the countries practice a different faith than Christianity. Bringing this together, they learned of the great need of Christ in our world. Our youth come from extreme poverty and still live in poverty.
The missionary that spoke to the youth today implored them to not play the victim. He stressed the importance of going to school and getting good grades and told them to become doctors, nurses, architects and to learn second languages. He said that God would use these talents and skills to go into the world and make disciples for him! He told them that in the U.S. they have an expression– “the sky is the limit”. He wanted them to dream big, achieve their goals and transform the world for Christ. The youth left the conference on fire and ready to get started! Many of our youth are new believers in Christ. Please keep them and the Hope of Life Village in your prayers. This weekend we have our first lock-in and with the youth. Our theme is “Each One Reach One”. They are super excited!
