In this Thanksgiving season, I am thanking God for all the things He has opened my eyes to see.

A sweet mama and six of her children carrying loads of wood on their heads down the mountain, so they could build a fire to cook. A boy carrying a large bottle of water on his shoulders so his family can drink. Many families coming through the gates and receiving the only food they have to survive. Mamas and their babies and children, some with bloated bellies arriving at the hospital for life-saving medical care. Weary worn faces looking for answers. Children laughing and playing, because they have been given a home and a family. Guatemalans and Americans working day in and day out to make a difference. Barefoot little ones running through the village. Children and adults praying and crying out to God to meet their needs. Esperanza de Vida/Hope of Life, transforming the lives and hearts of the people of Guatemala.

I am blessed.

You are blessed.

This year, let’s try to make a difference. Let’s daily live out the Gospel of Jesus. Let’s approach each day with thankful hearts. Not only for the material things but mostly, for the eternal… the people that God allows us to see so we can make a difference!
