A couple weeks ago, I had the opportunity to go up into the mountains with the sponsorship team. We went to a village about and hour and a half from Hope of Life. I absolutely love getting to see different parts of Guatemala, because each place is unique and tells a different part of Guatemala’s story.
It was such a blessing to help out with sponsorship, even if it was just one Saturday morning. When we arrived at the village, there were already mothers and children there waiting for us. Before I knew it, my check-in table was completely surrounded by people. I helped the families check in and write their names for their update pictures. I couldn’t believe how friendly and joyful everyone was. Their kindness blessed me immensely. I know this is a result of what God is doing through sponsorship in the village. We finished all the pictures, update letters, and gave out food bags.
The entire day felt like a completely different world. Being busy in our own routine and ministry here, it’s impossible to be a part of every area. Between Guatemala’s beautiful mountains, trees, and people I was reminded how big our God is and how He always has something new in store. We just have to take that step!
“How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, “Your God reigns!” Isaiah 52:7
