Below one of our very own staff members, Yuana highlights the experiences she had during her first trip to Guatemala in August of this year.
My name is Yuana and I am a mission trip coordinator for Hope of Life International. I help plan and coordinate trips to our ministry for churches, businesses, and individuals who want to make a difference. I enjoy my job, talking to group leaders about the goals they want to accomplish, while at Hope of Life. I am overjoyed by people’s generosity and kindness to our people in Guatemala. Hearing their stories and accomplishments makes me feel blessed to work for a organization giving so much to those who have so little.
In August of this year, I was going to Hope of Life for the first time to experience the ministry in Guatemala for myself. Hope of Life not only believes in investing in the people of Guatemala, but also in its employees. I was sent to Guatemala to experience Hope of Life and really understand the importance my job has on the people of Guatemala.
Our ministry is like no other. The mission, vision, and values of Hope of Life are embedded in its employees. They work day and night to help the needy and bring hope to thousands. Their positive attitude is contagious and you can’t help feeling like you are part of them, a part of Hope of Life.
I was able to witness the hard work and dedication from the groups I help coordinate. It is a beautiful thing to see people from different parts of the world come together to help a hungry child, rescue a baby, and build a home for a needy family. Visiting Hope of Life was a life changing experience for me and I feel blessed to be part of Hope of Life. I am blessed to be able to witness the kindness of people, see a child transform after being rescued, and bring hope for the people of Guatemala.
